Handler Name: Kris.
How You Found Us: Facebook.
Wrestler Name: Flynn McCarthy.
Nicknames: None that are official as of yet.
Billed From: Wicklow, Ireland.
Billed Height & Weight: 5'10" and 177 lbs. (She's actually a bit shorter and lighter.)
Picture Base/Poser: Susan Coffey.
Alignment(Face/Heel/Tweener): Face in the vein of… well, read her gimmick.
Theme Music: 'Going to Hell' by the Pretty Reckless.
Entrance Style: The whispered opening lyrics of 'Going To Hell' hit the sound system-- and as soon as the song proper begins? Flynn McCarthy's hopping over the rail separating the fans from the ringside area, landing with something of a smirk. Snagging an open beer from one of the people nearest to her, the redhead's taking a swing before she's climbing up in the corner of those rails, thrusting her pilfered booze over her head to a raucous ovation. Hopping down, Flynn rummages around a bit in her cleavage before she thrusts a tenner in the hands of whoever it was she stole her drink from before she's making her way up the ring steps, the bottle drained of its remaining contents before she's tossing it over to the side. Ducking between the top and middle ropes, the energetic Irish woman plays to the fans as her music fades-- a joke here, a lewd gesture there. There might even be a bit of collusion with the referee… or maybe they're just talking about the weather. Either way, really.
Wrestling gear: Flynn's a simple sort of girl when it comes to her attire - partly because she just doesn't care that much, and partly because it's cheaper to replace since she is inordinately hard on her gear. And what is that gear, you ask? A green lycra sports bra and matching shorts that end about mid-thigh, her combat boots matte black in color.
Gimmick/Character (basic outline): It's not often that a cheater gets the love of the fans… but that's exactly what Flynn has pulled off. It helps that she's honest about it, and also how she's so damned clever in how she pulls it off. The sort to leave her boot partway unlaced to squirm free of an ankle lock or to toss her opponent a chair after hitting the mat with it while the ref isn't looking before dropping like a sack of potatoes, there's really no telling just how she will outsmart her opponent. There was even an incident in the early days of her career where she yanked a beer from the hands of a fan and used the booze to make her skin too slick to hold onto when she got in over her head with a grappler. (Of course, she bought him two after the show to make up for the alcohol abuse.) Another important detail to mention; Flynn will wrestle most other faces fairly. It's the heels that usually get shown just how it's done, cheating-wise. Of course, that vague semblance of a code of honor can go out the window on just about any day…
Wrestling Style(Brawler, Technical, Aerial, etc.): Brawler with a side of just enough technical know-how to be able to wrestle in the ring and an extra helping of mischief and trickery. Okay, maybe five extra helpings of trickery.
Move Set: (Note: I know, I know, it isn't as complete as some of the others that I've seen around here… but Flynn's pretty much a brawler. There's nothing fussy or fancy - well, beyond how she'll cheat - so when all else fails? Mudhole stomping is always appropriate.)
1. Drop toe hold.
2. Hip toss.
3. Lou Thesz Press.
4. Clothesline, with success/failure as would be realistic.
5. Monkey flip.
6. Blows to the face and chest - closed-fisted when she can get away with it.
7. Low blow - when the ref's not looking, of course.
8. Kicks. (Not anything martial-artsy - just her putting the boots to someone.)
9. Headbutt. (Hey, she may as well put that thick skull of hers to some use…)
10. Axe handle - or a double axe handle, depending on the situation.[
Signature Moves:
1. Alcoholic's Abuse ( Pummeling a cornered opponent with fists and elbows until the opponent drops to the mat, at which point she will quite merrily stomp away. Once in a blue moon, she'll make up a bawdy little tune to accompany said mudhole stomping.)
2. Irish Car Bomb (Momentum-assisted gut buster.)
3. Splittin' Headache (Diving headbutt.)
4. Plastered (Desecrator.)
Primary Finisher: Pogue Mahone.
Description: BUS DRIVER~! No, really. That's… what it's called. The best I can describe it is that it's an arm-trap, headlock driver. Flynn'll shout "Pogue Mahone!" where that fellow screamed "Bus Driver!" - and the crowd'll usually scream it right along with her.
Secondary Finisher (optional): Banjax.
Description: The Crippler Crossface. It's essentially an arm-trap crossface. Flynn doesn't bring this one out often - only when she's really pissed off at her opponent after a long and heated feud, or in the odd submission match that she may find herself in.
Backstory(Short bio for your character goes here): …um… well… that's the thing about Flynn. She's got a past just like everyone else, but just what happened in it varies on the day and who's askin'. About the only details that are confirmed is that she grew up in Wicklow with a pack of brothers and that she was trained in some hole-in-the-wall wrestling school that pretty much was only meant to get a graduate into a bingo hall circuit. Even how she came to compete in NAW is uncertain, although she's at least stopped telling that tale with a moose biting her sister as its start. Just how Flynn's managed to get as far as she has on that alone speaks of her grit and determination--well, that and all of the barroom brawls she's survived. That helped somehow, she thinks.
