Alice wasn't so sure what was going on.
She'd somehow managed to beat "The Beast", quite a feat given she'd only wrestled guys a lot lighter than he was previously. She should have been on a high after her victory, and she was initially. Spending the night after Meltdown #53 sharing a few celebratory drinks with her sister, Krystal and speaking to a few of her friends from PRW to tell them she finally got that big singles win she was chasing for so long, the Dirty Little Thing soon found herself 'downhill'.
Alice was frustrated and her sister Krystal could see that easily. Talking to herself out loud but not loud enough to make it seem totally obvious whilst staring into space was one of Alice's tells. Those little quirks which give away what the person is thinking. Granted Alice wasn't exactly a complicated person, she was easy to read, but when she was frustrated it was easy to spot.
Alice didn't look up as Krystal tried to talk to her.
Krystal: "I mean, ok, a team implies some unity, some co-operation, working towards a mutual goal, and in your case, it means making it to the next round of this tournament thing... But how many teams have that one person who drags them through?"
Alice wasn't listening, or if she was she wasn't giving her sister her full attention.
Krystal: "I mean look at Soccer... That Spanish team who play all in white... They got that Ronaldo guy and he pretty much carries them through the games... Just because you're on the same side, it doesn't always mean you have to be on the same page... Maybe this Tyson guy is thinking that"
Alice kept staring into space, half mumbling to herself.
Krystal: "You're not even listening to a word I'm saying are you Alice? I'm sat here, trying to be a nice older sister, actually going out of my way to help you out when I could easily be training or getting some tail ... You know... I went on that date with Nebs.. Let me te..."
Alice suddenly snapped to attention. Picking up the water bottle at her feet, she spun round and thrown it at her sister, bouncing it off of her head with a rather satisfying "Thwack!" noise and a look of anger in her eyes.
Krystal: "OI! What was that for Al?"
Alice: "I don't wanna know if you got any with my friends... I made that perfectly clear when you were going on that date... Whatever happens does not reach my ears"
Krystal: "Well, now that I have your attention, can I actually try and light a fire under your ass for this match instead of lighting a fire in your heart for this Nebraska girl..."
Alice blushed a little at the mention of Nebraska. She didn't know why, it was a one night stand. Sure, she was cute and they were friends, but she'd never considered her or Nebraska as an item.
Krystal: "As I was saying... You don't have to work as a team to win as a team... Every team or group has their star players, the work horses, the dark horses, the unsung heroes and the passengers... When there's only two of you, it makes it easier to see who is who in the unit..."
Alice: "Your point?"
Krystal: "This West fella... He's not returned the calls or messages you've sent and asked to be passed onto him right? You wanna work as a team, he's ignoring you..."
Alice: "Yeah..."
Krystal: "It's obvious, he thinks he is the star attraction of your team. He's gonna do all the work, you're just his passenger, there to make a save if needed and make up the numbers..."
Alice nodded as Krystal continued.
Krystal: "All you gotta do sis is prove otherwise... There's an old saying..."
Krystal clears her throat and makes Air quotes with her fingers.
Krystal: "There ain't no I in team"
Alice: "...But there is a Me"
Krystal nodded.
Krystal: "You gotta take this match into your hands sis! You beat a guy nearly a foot taller than you and twice your weight. You got hit hard but wouldn't stay down. You kept comin' an goin at him until you beat him. Your partner must have seen that, if he didn't, he's a fool"
Alice: "So you're saying forget about him and work on my end of the match?"
Krystal: "Exactly... Now tell me more about your opponents..."
Alice: "They're called The Lost Family... One of them... I think his name is Eric Ambrose or somethin' like that.. He's technical, he's fast and he's a bit of an odd-ball"
Krystal: "So you're facing a real team then... Two individuals against a unit... Normally people would back the unit... Experience together, a mutual understanding and knowing of each other's strengths, weaknesses and the like..."
Alice: "So its a case of thanks for playing Alice... we'll see you next week in the mini rumble?"
Krystal: "Thinking like that... It will be... What you gotta do is think on your feet sis.. You're usually good at that."
Alice: "So what... Blind tags, take control myself, know when to fight and when to rest?"
Krystal: "Exactly... You need to put your stamp on this match. You gotta show West and Ambrose and everyone else here in NAW that you're the real deal. Not just some token eye candy with a load of guts and spunk behind you"
Alice: "So, how would you suggest I do that?"
Krystal: "Simple... Be yourself... When you want something Alice, you usually know how to find a way to get it... Use your head... Or your body..."
Alice frowned at her sister as she turned her tone of voice to a husky one as she said 'use your body'.
Krystal: "I kid... You don't have to whore yourself out to get better chances... This isn't the 90's anymore sis!"
Alice let off a laugh as Krystal walked towards her and put her hand on her shoulder.
Krystal: "You can do this sis... I got faith in you, the girls in PRW got faith in you and hell, Alice White must have faith in you if she's giving you this chance to challenge for a belt in the future... Prove yourself once again Alice... Show these people just what the Dirty Little Thing can do"
Nodding in agreement and understanding, Alice reached round and gave her sister a hug.

"Random Pairing, Tag team tournament...A guy who won't even return the call I made to see if we could train together... This... This is gonna go swell"
Alice was frustrated and her sister Krystal could see that easily. Talking to herself out loud but not loud enough to make it seem totally obvious whilst staring into space was one of Alice's tells. "I can do this... Whether Tyson wants to work with me or just do his thing... I will not be walking out of Meltdown with my reputation being questioned. I am going to show everyone that I am serious, I mean business and I can fight in all situations"
