The scene opens up at the Phoenix Estates in Miami, Florida and the cameras are inside an overly large mansion with gothic styled decorations. Morgan Alvertez-Phoenix is strutting behind her eldest son down the west wing’s hallway as he makes his way to a side room. As he makes his way to the door, Morgan extends her right arm as she speaks out to her son. Lucifer continues to grab the doorknob and proceeds beside the study.
Morgan Alvertez-Phoenix: “Lucifer…”
He looks back at his mother before he continues to enter the study. Morgan slowly follows him inside as Jason Phoenix is sitting beside the window still with his foot perched up on the barrier. He has his fingers tapping against the window as he stares out into the rain with a dazed look in his eyes. Lucifer pauses near the desk in the room as he tilts his head down.
Lucifer Phoenix: “Father…”
He says as Morgan nervously stands in the doorway biting down on her right index fingertip. Jason Phoenix turns to his son and glares at him.
Lucifer Phoenix: “I heard the disrespect from your opponent.”
Jason Phoenix raises his right hand.
Jason Phoenix: “Silence, son. This isn’t your battle. This is mine. I will do what I am known for and that’s destroying this mortal soul Jason Price.”
Lucifer presses his hands together and bows his head.
Lucifer Phoenix: “It would be my honor to rectify this situation and bring Jason Price down off his high horse. I can’t stand anybody disrespecting my mother or father.”
Morgan steps out of the doorway and hides behind the second door as she has her head leaned against the door, eavesdropping.
Jason Phoenix: “Lucifer, I can handle it. This isn’t your concern. I am dealing with Jason Price by myself.”
He slightly turns his head over his shoulder and looks over at his eldest son.
Jason Phoenix: “I respect your eagerness to unleash hell onto anybody who has wronged your father and mother, but I am not unable to fight my own battles… yet. I can still go the distance with any mortal in the world of wrestling and will on this upcoming episode of Meltdown. Mark my word Lucifer, it’s going to be a not so glorious evening for Jason Price when he comes to reality lying in a local Kansas City’s hospital bed.”
He looks away from his son and starts rubbing his hands while looking back outside the window. Lucifer grins devilishly. Lucifer props up on the corner of the desk in the study and he slides his hands up the side of his faces. He tilts his head up and looks at the ceiling with his eyes closed. He has a grin on his face as his father, Jason Phoenix turns his head to the camera with his leg leaned up on the perched beside the window. He has his hands placed on the top of his knee and begins to speak.
Jason Phoenix: “Jason, Jason, Jason… No, I’m not calling myself because if that was the case, I would be addressing myself as the Phoenix. I’m addressing you, Price because your ignorance continues to be your guiding star and it’s personally making my stomach hurl. Did you really mistake my advice as a threat? I apologize you were much too stupid to realize a threat from a promise. It was a solidified promise Jason and I mean it. I keep my promises and this is why I am as successful as I am in this business. I promised everybody I was going to beat Noah Hanson and what did I do? I did exactly that. I told everybody I was going to punish Luke Savage and I did exactly that. I promised to become the future Horizon Champion when given the opportunity and you can expect me to make good on that promise too. I promise to make you suffer and I am going to make you suffer like you have never suffered in your life. You are going to be begging and pleading for me to quit, but this is the main event. I am going to make the NAW famous… I am going to make this the greatest main event NAW’s Meltdown has seen yet.”
He raises his right hand to his chin and starts to stroke it as he cocks his head up.
Jason Phoenix: “Have you really been to the depths of hell, Price? Do you really know what its like to be in hell? I think not. You’ve been living in hell on earth, but you know nothing about real hell. Hell is a place where you couldn’t even begin to imagine or grasp the concept of hell. You are going to experience the difference this Meltdown and I guarantee you will be able to tell the world how you were taken to hell and back by the living legend, the tormented soul, the lord of darkness Jason Phoenix. You are always going to have this one match… this one experience to cherish close to your heart as the match that made you famous. If you are able to survive, you know you can survive anything, but what shape is it going to be in is the question.”
He opens his eyes wider as the cameraman zooms in on the whites of his eyes.
Jason Phoenix: “That Price is no threat… it’s a generous offering for you to swallow. It’s time you swallow your pride and stop trying to be so arrogantly tough because it is just a façade. It’s not really you. You hide your fear behind it because you’ve been bred to be the tough little boy all your life. Well, your parents lied to you if you believe for one-second arrogance triumphs fear. I can sniff fear out of any situation and any wrestler. I smelled it on Noah Hanson like a dirty pair of briefs. I smell it off of you like a little boy who soiled his pants in second grade. You have every reason to fear me. You have every reason to fear this match. You need to come to reality there is no man or woman in NAW better than me!”
He points to his chest as the cameraman looks over at Lucifer at the desk, glaring at his old man who continues to speak.
Jason Phoenix: “I want to elaborate on something you said in the closing of your little speech. You wanted to convince us all that you are going to be the next face of NAW. You are the next big thing in this company’s future and we should all continue to imagine you as the scum you currently are because it is going to be a rude awakening for us. Well, how do you expect us to even believe a single thing when you couldn’t even muscle up the ability to beat Rocky on the last Meltdown? It was you who’s own finishing move wasn’t enough to keep Rocky Hollywood down. Now, you want to assume you can beat both Rocky and Noah in a triple threat match? The only way you will ever be able to beat those two is if they died of a heart attack while competing in the ring or fell to their death by gliding down on a zip line from the ceiling. There is no way in hell you are going to have the opportunity to climb that ladder and pull down both the Hardcore and Legacy Championships at Revenge! I won’t allow it!”
He swings his feet down to the floor and leans his back against the window.
Jason Phoenix: “My clan… my family… are my life. Harm any one of them, even Christian Taylor, and I’ll have your head on a silver platter. I’ll indulge in carcass like a Thanksgiving feast. You can try to do whatever you want to me. Make me bleed—it makes me fight harder. Try to break my neck—it makes me hungrier. Use a weapon to keep me down and it just drives me to seal your fate that much quicker! May your God have mercy on your forsaken soul because I won’t!”
Lucifer looks to the camera.
Lucifer Phoenix: “Mess with my father and you shall go down in the flames of the Phoenix!”
Morgan stands in the doorway with one hand on the side and the other on her hip as she’s smirking wickedly. She flips her hair over the shoulder. The scene fades to black.
