It is a clear but rather drab and dreary Christmas Eve morning in Wilkes Barre – the morning after the special Holiday Fear episode of WBSW Live. The scene opens up outside Wilkes Barre General hospital as a team of medics is seen rushing a young man in on a gurney – possibly suffering from too much festive drinking. The scene switches to one of the hallways on the general care ward where we find a room belonging to Jimmy the Rookie, the young man brutally assaulted and put through a table last night by the Black Circle Boys. Lance Carter and Hank Sharpe of The Vice Squad, visibly battered and bruised, walk out of the room with a middle aged doctor.
Doctor: Don’t worry too much guys. He suffered a concussion but we’ll keep him in for a few weeks to monitor him and with some rest, he should be fine. Barring any complications there are no other serious injuries to be concerned over.
Lance: Thanks doctor.
The doctor turns to walk away down the corridor as other nurses and interns rush about. Lance and Hank sit down on a bench, a mixture of grief and resentment on their faces. Just then we see WBSW reporter Barry Lincoln with a single camera man coming down the corridor towards the Squad.
Barry: Hey guys, can we have just a few moments of your time please. We would just like to run a quick interview to put on the website.
Hank: Erm.. Yeah sure, I guess, a quick one..
Barry signals to his cameraman to start filming as Lance and Hank stand up from the bench and straighten their jackets.
Barry: Ok, so Vice Squad, we all saw your colleague and friend, Jimmy Lawson put through a table last night at the Holiday Fear episode of Live. Firstly, how is Jimmy doing?
Lance: He’s fairly out of it at the moment but the doctors say he should be ok..
Hank: Which is more than can be said for the Black Circle Boys when we get done with them.
Barry: No doubt you both have revenge on your minds?
Lance and Hank sigh heavily.
Lance: You know, as cops you try to carry yourself professionally and not let anything personal interfere with the job and I think, to a degree, we try to carry some of that.. professionalism over to our wrestling careers... But any professionalism the Black Circle Boys would have got from us has now all but gone. The BCB have crossed a line and made this personal now. All because they lost the match, they spat their pacifiers out and had a little tantrum... They had no right putting their hands on Jimmy - a man with no training or protective gear. He is a close friend of ours who was just out there to enjoy the spectacle and they felt the need to ruin his night and potentially ruin his life..
Hank: I don’t care how much chaos they wanna cause on their damn crusade, that’s just not cool. And there will be retaliation.. There will be vengeance.. You know, I think the Boys assume, that ‘cos we patrol the beat down in sunny Miami that we’re just a couple of beach boys or something but I don’t think they realise that we can roll with the hardest of them.. I’m originally from Brooklyn, I finished my training in one of the toughest police academies, I might look like a karaoke king but I can assure you I - both of us – are fighters. The Black Circle Boys have just opened themselves one big ol’ can of worms to chew on ‘cos now, as Lance rightly said, they have made this a personal matter. Now.. this is a fight.
Barry: Well I am sure you can take some sort of comfort away from last night in the knowledge that, perhaps a little revenge has already being served by your victory over the Black Circle Boys – a bittersweet victory perhaps but nonetheless, it’s the first official victory in the two teams series, a victory which has also granted you one of the much coveted positions in the inaugural Tag Team Titles match this coming February.
Lance: Bittersweet is certainly quite true. As unforgivable as their actions were last night, we came out of the match the winners. We’re battered and bruised from it, sure but we proved that we can hang with them.. we gave as good as they they gave and we beat them.. And beat them at their own game on top of that! I’m sure the Black Circle Boys weren’t the only ones there who doubted us and while we can’t possibly stand to win every match we will have here, we will always have this victory over them. And it’s all the more sweet that we have taken the tag title shot away from them.
Hank: Our business with the Boys ain’t over by a long shot Barry but we now also have this match set with The V-List for the tag team titles. We’re on the up. In roughly a months time we will be tag team champions and we will wear and defend those belts with pride. This is the start of great things for us.. We don't just plan on becoming the tag team champions, we have our goals and with the departure of Steven Yellow the top flight is open-
Barry chuckles to himself and cuts Hank off.
Barry: I see Gunner Hughes comments are already starting to stick..
Hank: Yeah sure, you know, Gunner is a good guy.. A silent but strong locker room leader. He's a talented performer and a great champion... for now.
Barry: Woah, wait.. Are you putting yourselves in WBSW Title contention?
Lance: All we can say is.... Gunner, once we are the dominant tag team champs, prepare for a little cold, hard justice.
And with that Lance and Hank turn to walk down the corridor, leaving a stunned Barry, excited with his possible scoop, to signal to cut to black.
