Backstory: Toshiro Matsuda has roots firmly entrenched in the wrestling business. Though he is a first generation wrestler his grandfather and father had been involved with the business nearly their entire lives. While Toshiro's grandfather helped produce some of Japan's early wrestling shows, his father was a costume designer and writer. Upon turning seventeen Toshiro was given a break into the business. A wrestler had called in due to sickness so they needed a stand in to make the then champion Anoki Shimisawa look strong going into the super card event. However as the match bore on people began to cheer for the young no-name. Though he lost the match and achieved the aim of making Anoki look strong, people went home that night talking about the ring work of the unknown kid.
He was booked a month later due to many questions surrounding where he came from. Slowly the story unwound, not as truth but simply for the fact that when you're perfection you don't come from any one place. You just simply exist. You do not earn the right to become a legend, you simply are. This attitude unsettled many of his peers and over time he began to gain notoriety in the United States. Now that he is in the US, Toshiro hopes to further his legacy as a legend apparent.
