Handler Name: Jose
How You Found Us: Efed Knights
Wrestler Name: Joe Martinez
Nicknames: Madman, The Maniac
Billed From: Aztec, New Mexico
Billed Height & Weight: 5'11 and 315 lbs
Picture Base: Billy Milano
Alignment: Tweener
Theme Music: Stronger than Hate by Sepultura
Entrance Style: Black out for a few seconds as tension mounts and the intro chords play. Finally the lightning fast playing starts up and red lights flash repeatedly. The Madman steps out head banging to the music at the solo’s conclusion, facing both booing from those who dislike him and cheering from fans. He walks down getting in the face and shouting back at detractors as well as giving the sign of the horns shaking the hands of loyal fans. He marches up to the steps and ascends before entering via the second and third ropes. Once inside the ring he raises both fists and uses both hands to point to his opponent before giving thumbs down.
Wrestling gear: Joe usually wears a dark blue denim vest with various patches sewn all over it from various mostly defunct heavy metal bands to the ring. He normally takes it off before the start of a match revealing usually a plain black or white T-shirt. Sometimes a “Never Stop the Madness” promotional T shirt is also seen. Joe wears shorts that go well below the knee, usually olive drab, camouflage or black in color with tall black wrestling boots that have silver tips at the toe and heel, giving a metallic appearance. The Madman also usually tapes up his knuckles.
Style: Brawler with some Submissions. Prefers hardcore style matches.
Move Set:
1. Forearm smash
2. Pile driver
3. Jumping DDT
4. Single leg Boston crab
5. Bulldog
6. Knee face-breaker
7. Fireman’s Carry into some kind of slam or drop.
8. Big Headbutt
9. Spinebuster
10. Inverted Facelock (usually turned into a backbreaker or cutter of some kind.)
Signature Moves:
1. Fall by the Wayside - Belly to back suplex into a side slam.
2. Down on your luck - A modified Sidewalk Slam that comes down with an elbow drop.
3. Handout – A cross face chicken wing – sometimes turned into a suplex.
Finishers:
1. Weight of the World – Similar to a Fujiwara Armbar where the Madman actually sits on his opponent and wrenches their arm back.
2. The Grinning Crippler - Like the Crippler Cross face however instead of both hands used to jerk the neck back, Madman fish hooks his opponent with one hand (Puts his finger(s) into their mouth and yanks the cheek away from their teeth) and pushes the side of their head with his other hand, increasing strain on their neck.
Reserved usually for hardcore / no disqualification style matches (though temper can cause him to resort to them in a regular match regardless of consequences)-
1. Mud In Yer eyes! - Joe throws a clump of dirt or handful of sand into his opponent's eyes. This is usually hidden around the ring or in of the various pockets on his vest/shorts.
2. The Street Sweeper - A Lou Thesz press with a double hand choke. Often used as a hardcore finisher to get his opponent unconscious.
Backstory: Some people can be described as loose cannons. For the “Madman” a loose cannon is something which would be perfect to take and smash someone else over the head with. Joe “Madman” Martinez is a drifter, literally living out of the back of his car for most of his adult life. It’s been over a decade now since he’s been able to find any kind of regular work or a place to settle down. Madman found out that he could make money engaging in wrestling matches sponsored by seedy types in questionable locations. The type of competitive environment he is used to however was barely discernible from plain old pit fighting. It was filmed and distributed via the internet as "hobo fights" Joe Martinez hopes to sign on to a professional wrestling league and move up in the world, getting away from this style of fighting forever. Joe has developed a knack for the hardcore and street fighting rules of the underground wrestling environment he normally competes in. He has no problem risking life and limb, both his and his opponent’s if it means he gets to entertain the crowd and seal in another victory. He has had to learn the fine art of trash talking and taking things to the extreme as a means of survival on his circuit. He has begun taking on practice and more routine training as a wrestler in the hopes of keeping steady employ.
