The scene opens up in a backstage hallway and we see NAW reporter Barry Lincoln standing by with Luke Savage.
Barry: Hello everybody, I’m standing here with Luke Savage who is not far away from entering his match with Tim Stone at Spring Breakdown. Luke, Time Stone issued an open challenge and you gladly accepted. Was there a specific reason for accepting Stone’s challenge so quickly?
Luke: Well hell yes there was a reason Barry. The reason was because I’m a wrestler and that’s what wrestlers do. Somebody starts flappin’ their gums about an open challenge when I’m around and you can bet your skinny little ass that I’m gonna respond.
Barry: So what about Tim Stone personally? What are your thoughts on him? Any bad blood between you two? He did have some choice words for you earlier this week.
Luke: Bad blood? I don’t know if I’d say that. There certainly isn’t any good blood, that’s for sure. But who is Tim Stone as a person? That’s a question I can’t answer. I don’t know the guy. Oh sure, he talked like he knew me personally earlier this week when he opened his mouth and let all that crap slide out of it, but different warriors prepare for battles in a different manner. I could stand here and talk about how Tim Stone won’t go anywhere in the NAW, but I ain’t gonna do that. I could stand out here and talk about how Tim Stone is just a little guppy tryin’ to survive in shark infested waters…but again, I ain’t gonna do that. That ain’t my style. I don’t fight battles with my mouth Barry, I fight em’ with these bad boys right here.
Luke holds up his balled fists.
Luke: So Tim Stone, whoever the hell he is personally, professional, or however the hell else he wants to be seen…he’s a defeated man. He just hasn’t realized it yet.
Barry: Little guppy? I’m not sure I agree with that point Luke. Facing Tim Stone will certainly be no walk in the park. Stone has shown to be an extremely talented and hardworking wrestler, and not just in the NAW but all through the wrestling industry. You definitely have your hands full.
Luke: Of course I do Barry, and that’s what made it so easy for me to accept his challenge. Some nobody comes walkin’ out to the ring and lays down a challenge, nobody cares. Nobody responds. Why would they? What is beatin’ up some nobody gonna do for their career? I been beatin’ up on nobody’s in the NAW for a while now and nothin’ good has come of it yet for me. But a man who’s breaking out into the spotlight lays down a challenge…now people are listenin’. Now people are thinkin’…”Hey, this could be an opportunity here”. So I took that opportunity before anybody else did.
Barry: So is that why you accepted his challenge?
Luke: Of course it is Barry, why else would I? Tim Stone has indeed made a name for himself in the wrestlin’ business…but I aim to use it. I aim to use it to propel myself right into the title mix where I belong. As I said before Barry, Tim Stone may have talent…he may even be the next big thing in the wrestling industry…but in the NAW he’s still swimmin’ with sharks. In the NAW, we don’t give a damned about the rest of the industry or its accolades…we do things our own way over here. Tim Stone has managed to survive this far, but now it’s my turn to take a shot at him. People been talkin’ about Tim Stone and how good he is…
Luke grins with a menacing looking smile.
Luke: Well after Spring Breakdown…get ready to talk about Luke Savage!
Luke walks off and Barry is left standing in the hallway by himself as the scene fades.
