The morning was cold. Snow had covered the city with its white mantel and the temperatures were in the minus degrees. Yet he didn't feel it. Sitting there, on the bench, near the river, he was gazing at the blue water. The young man was completely lost in thoughts.
It had been ages since the last time he found the time to write with blood in the book of his own life.
Too busy running..
They say experience shapes the man, his life and his mind.
He had never been one who stayed for longer than a while in a place. Since he was a small kid he always had moved from one place to the other. Three years here, four years there. Life went on as it does for everyone but for him it was a bit different. He never knew what it means to grow up and grow older in the same village or city. Build friendships that last a lifetime or stay with the beloved ones for more than a bit.
He learned that trying to attach yourself to someone for more than an instant, leads to pain because everything in life passes away. Nothing is there to stay forever...
You never swim in the same river twice. Even if you return on your steps, what you find is never what you left when you went away. Things change even if the rhythm of life is the same. Days become nights and night stars leave their place to the sun like they have been doing for an eternity. Yet even in this constant rhythm, things continue to change.
You never swim in the same river twice.
He sat there, contemplating about his achievements and his losses. The days, months and years of his life ran in front of his eyes like a wordless, black and white movie.
Too fast had they gone away.
He sat there, wearing a long, black , leather mantel which had begun to turn white from the falling snow. The soft but cold wind was almost cutting his face skin like a sharp knife.
Yet he didn't feel anything. He was completely lost in thoughts. Contemplating about his life and his dreams. When he was younger he had a lot of them. Countless, like the stars on a clear night sky. But life, life is sometimes irremediably cruel. Life and her facts and happenings had wiped many of these very dreams away.
And his own mistakes had done the rest. Mistakes are needed in life, they are a source of experience
We grow stronger when we face our own mistakes and learn from them. But sometimes, sometimes these very mistakes are so grave they destroy an entire existence...
He held something in his hand
It was an eye-shaped coin.
One side was blue and the other green.
He tossed the coin and caught it in mid air. He did not open his fist to see which side was the one fallen. It did not matter.
He lost, lost anyway.
We meet people in our lives. Sometimes these people hold a tremendous power over our very existence. The mere meeting them for some moments in our own history, changes the path of this very one. Sometimes we meet people we wish we never had and some other times we meet people we wish we had had the chance to meet again. Sometimes we meet people who leave a remarkable wound in our soul and sometimes we meet people who would have had the power to alleviate all our pain. We meet negative and positive people.
Sometimes we meet some we wish we never had
And sometimes we meet ones we wish we never would have let go.
Yet it is what it is. Life goes on and all that remains, when you meet someone you consider positive, someone you sadly can not hold in your life, is the wish that they can be well. That everything in their life goes as it should, that they smile at the first rays of the morning sun. That they can have a love filled and peaceful life.
You are grateful for the moment you spent with them, hold it dear in your heart. And you, too, smile at the first rays of the morning sun. You think of them as a treasure you once found and although saddened by the fact you do not own this treasure, although saddened by the fact you lost
..lost anyway..
You still feel like a winner, at least sometimes, because the positivity they left in your heart is a source of great might and optimism.
And although there are people that you wish you never met, that changed your life for the worse, you feel richer because knowing what is bad, made you appreciate that which is good. That which you hold dear and for which you hope it will always be a shining star in the misery of a starless sky.
You think of them and they think of you.
And although you feel saddened because you lost a dream on the dirty path of life, you understand that not everything is lost. At first they were thousands and now they are a little less but you still have dreams. And although you might have lost a great dream, maybe achieving some smaller ones will make your heart bleed less from its wounds.
A man should never stop fighting and a man should never stop dreaming because if he does he will turn into a cynical human being. Someone that knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.
Nowhere in your birth certificate was written life would be fair....
This quote, written and read long time ago made him think about the human beings and their lives. We all have problems and burdens we have to carry on our shoulders. Sometimes you think you have all the problems in the world and think your existence is a misery and then, then you sit down and chat with a known one, one you never thought had problems..
Well, what you hear makes you realize that maybe his troubles and burdens are much much heavier than yours and yet, still, this person manages to live out his day and his life. He manages to live and let go anyway...
And you learn that you have to carry your burdens too. Even if it costs you a smile and moments of happiness, you understand that you have to fight a fight each and every day of your life. Life is a constant fight, with some breaks in between. And in these very breaks you contemplate about your actions and achievements. You learn from your mistakes and losses as much as you learn from your wins, your successes. You enjoy these short moments of peace, knowing that they are not there to last and that the fight will resume whenever you expect it less.
You learn from your fights and your mistakes and if somehow you can not win or if somehow you have to walk away and move on, you still have to appreciate the fact that you are still there, although some of your dreams may not. You have to trust in yourself and attempt to achieve the rest of your dreams and hopes. And if you have to move on and go a thousand miles away, you have to keep yourself alive, you have to find a way..
He stood up from the bench and started pacing away from the riverside. That river held a special meaning for him. It was the place in which he had thought and hoped for great things to happen. Always, when he was saddened or needed time to think about things, he found a way to be there, at the riverside, sitting on a bench, looking at the blue waters and the cerulean skies.
He went on walking towards the city. People were going on about their own businesses just as if nothing had ever happened. Life in the cities, goes on with its usual rhythm, undisturbed from singularities in peoples lives..
He went on walking, slowly.
Somewhere around there, someone was singing a song. It talked about destinies and hopes, feelings and goodbyes..
He went on walking, slowly.
And life went on, with its usual rhythm, undisturbed from singularities...

Greetings. Name is Vagabond. And that´s all you need to know about my persona outside the ring. It´s not much of an important knowledge though. It´s just a name. I could have been called Nomad, Lone Wolf, Vandal, Sirius or many other names for that matter, and them all would have been true to the persona standing In front of you. The names are just that, names. Or,sometimes,in our case as wrestlers, nicknames that represent a part of our personality. But I am much more than that. Much, much more than a single personality trait.
I am a human being. With pluses and minuses. With talents and shortcomings. With positives and negatives. A complex, living and breathing Entity. I have things that I love and things that I hate. I have things that I am bad and things that I am good at.
And more important than that, more important to the matter at hand, I am a fighter. Fighting is one of the things I am good at and one of the things I love. Been fighting for as long as I can remember. And although I am not yet recognized by the media nor praised by the fans of great fighting circuits I, slowly but irremediably, will get there. It´s one task I am willing to risk a lot to achieve. As I said, not much is known about me at this point. Some recordings of my fights here and there but nothing that could reveal all I can do, to the world.
Managers pick their nose and fans go to buy popcorn when my turn comes.
But that´s not always a bad thing. Sometimes it is a great advantage, especially if you are fighting a very crucial fight against opponents everyone knows and about whom there is a lot of material to be found. This is the case in my upcoming match in the NAW.
It is a essential match, which will be fought at a very important point in the NAW history. At their upcoming Pay per view, St. Valentine´s Day Massacre, I, Vagabond, will be standing in the squared circle against two experienced fighters from the NAW roster. Experienced is the crucial word here. Two fighters that have seen a lot and fought a lot of televised matches, against a rookie who has never battled it out in the great arenas.
Some will say its a clear deal. The rookie goes down..
..But I disagree..
Experience is a very important matter in our life, it shapes our brain and our emotions. It helps with everything in our lives. Many actions become automated reactions because we have done them so many times that we just don't pay attention to them anymore. We act in well known patterns.
..and that is the catch.
I´have studied my opponents. I know their acting and their in ring thinking. I know what they can and what they can not. I know their weaknesses by heart. They are good, mind you, but not great. They have been fighting in the NAW for a while. Know the fans and the ring and that´s their advantage. But they also never made it to the top, as far as I know. So, their experience when it comes to being the best and be the best has only shown them how to handle a beating by the best. Call me wrong but for as far as I know they have never had the chance to earn shots at the top gold in this company.
Experience has shaped their mind in a way which helps them handle their shortcomings when it comes to important matches. It helps them carry the heavy burden of mediocrity. Yes they are fighters. Yes they are good, at times. And yes, they have been around here for a while..
..But that´s all..
I am new to this arena and it´s fighters. I am new to the great televised shows. And that´s a fact. But it is also a fact that the well known and the knowledgeable do not always win.. If it was so, there would not be any sensational moments in sports. But there are. A lot of them. Where the young and inexperienced pull off the great upset and win the matches that mater
..Adrenaline rushes in their brain. Their bodies become a fighting machine. You knock them down and they come back up. Again and again. And then your experience and your fighting patterns fail in front of the unpredictable and the mighty rush of the unknown.

It is your Turn
Your Turn to Fail
...Again...
But give it your all. Give it your best shot. That is all I ask of you. And may this be the beginning of a great Winters Tale. The first fight of a series of unforgettable ones. The first step for this Very Vagabond towards the achievement of one of his Dreams.
And may the winners name be chanted forever in the arenas of this sport.
Lets make this a fight to remember..
